JOB OVERVIEW
The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College Veterinary Technology Department invites applications for our Adjunct Instructor of Veterinary Technology general pool of candidates from which part time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed). The number of positions varies depending on the needs of the department. Appointments are renewed based on departmental need and teaching performance. Rank and compensation are based on experience and academic credentials.
UC Blue Ash is the largest regional college in Ohio and one of the largest colleges at the University of Cincinnati. We are an open access college and offer primarily associate degrees with an enrollment of approximately 5100 students. All applicants for this position must be proficient in English, have strong communication skills, and be effective classroom facilitators who enjoy teaching in a culturally diverse, student-centered environment. There will be two (2) instructor hires for this posting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Teaching a variety of courses including lecture, lab, and clinical courses based on candidates' expertise. *Adjunct faculty members will be expected to use our course management system, Canvas, hold regular office hours, and attend at least one professional development workshop per year. *Classes may be offered day or evening. *Teaching is assigned on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis. *Office hours are required in order to meet with students as needed. *Many lectures are offered using online lecture delivery. *Adjuncts should be comfortable using technology and be willing to attend professional development opportunities to learn how to properly apply technology in the virtual classroom as a requirement for teaching online.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A bachelors' degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field of study; -OR- a doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Candidates must have a license to practice in the State of Ohio.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
1-2 years of teaching experience in a two-year college setting.
